Archer Aviation, a leading developer of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, has announced plans to establish an air mobility network in Los Angeles, California. The network aims to provide convenient and accessible air transportation to local residents by strategically placing vertiports throughout the city.
These vertiports will serve as hubs for eVTOL aircraft, enabling residents to hop on and off with ease. The locations of the vertiports have been carefully selected based on data on how people move around the city, ensuring seamless and efficient air travel.
Archer's eVTOL aircraft, the Midnight, has already been delivered to the US Air Force as part of the Agility Prime contract. This milestone demonstrates Archer's commitment to advancing the technology and bringing eVTOL transportation to reality.
The launch of the air mobility network is scheduled for 2026, and Archer has partnered with Kilroy Realty Corporation to explore the development of a Sea Portal waterfront mobility hub for eVTOL aircraft and electric ferries. This collaboration further expands Archer's vision for integrated air and water transportation in Los Angeles.
