Iconic Comedy Club in downtown Dayton to host final show in September

Wileys Comedy Club, the oldest comedy club in Ohio, to close its doors.

DAYTON---A longtime comedy club in the Miami Valley announced it will soon host its last. Wileys Comedy Club, the oldest comedy club in Ohio, will close its doors in September.

The club's owner, Mike Wiley, said the decision to close was a difficult one. However, he said that the club has been struggling financially for several years, and the recent COVID-19 pandemic has only made things worse.

“We've been hanging on by a thread for a while now,” Wiley said. “But we're just not able to make it work anymore.”

Wiley said that he is grateful for the support that the club has received from the community over the years. “We've had some great times here,” he said. “But it's time for us to close the chapter.”
